2021 Goals: Q4 & Year End Results
Peace out 2021! ✌
Read my goals here, and continue on for my 2021 goal results!
As always, I take the SMART goal approach.
What are SMART goals? Read my post for setting SMART goals here.
SMART is an acronym for:
Specific
Measurable
Achievable/Attainable
Relevant
Time-based
Here’s a quick run down:
S – the more specific the goal the better.
M – Quantify your goal.
A – be honest with yourself. You don’t have to accomplish every goal, but you should be at least close.
R – Choose something closely related to your ideals and appropriate at this time in life.
T – A deadline! Pick an actual date in the future on the calendar.
My goals encompass the following: business, finance, health, family, and personal.
Business Goals
My only goal in this category is to create a “side-hustle” with the help of this blog.
Status: Technically Complete
Deadline: 6/1/2021
Unfortunately, notable funds, but I’m still plugging away and trying to determine my niche. I think I’m narrowing it down! So don’t be surprised if you see some changes 😉
My summer yoga led to the owner of my CrossFit gym asking me to lead practice there, it was an amazing surprise! I have been working hard to get the word out and get outside interest into the classes. By doing this the owner is comping my membership and we have an arrangement for any outside profits. So far the outside interest has been slow, but these things take time. I’m hopeful this can be a fun side hustle!
Finance Goals
- Payoff my Citizens Bank credit card. This card was roughly $7,000 by the time we paid it off. It was paid using our tax refund. It has remained at a zero-balance since early March!
Status: Complete!
Deadline: 6/1/2021
- Make additional payments to the car loan.
Status: Technically complete, September – paid off. *see here for explanation
Deadline: Start additional payments no later than 6/1/2021
Health Goals
- Crossfit on average 2x per week. I have dropped this from 3x in 2020 to 2x in 2021 to make up for my pregnancy time and recovery.
Outcome: Ahead – 115 days total, 11 extra!
- Stretch on average 3x per week (yoga counts!).
Outcome: Ahead – 163 days total, 7 extra!
Math breakdown for these goals:
3x a week on average equates to at least 156/year, 39/quarter, and 13/month.
2x a week on average equates to at least 104/year, 26/quarter, and 8-9/month.
Crushed these health goals! Absolutely looking forward to increasing and improving in this area in 2022.
Family Goals
This goal went so well in 2020 and was the one goal I fully accomplished, so I kept it the same 🙂
- 1 date night a month – childfree
Status: 12 dates. Maybe even a few unaccounted for, but pretty solid!
October – 1, Halloween Party
November – 1, brewery + food then a band at a bar with another couple
Brewery: Hopothecary Bar: Chieftain
December – 1, sushi 🍣
- 1 family event/outing per month
Status: Ahead, 15!
October – 1, Pa’s birthday
November – 1, Ewan’s Baptism
December – 3 at least! Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and we hosted my husband’s friend yankee swap and all the kids were invited too! It was really cute to see them all together. However, we almost had a super spreader event 😱, but missed it by a 2nd degree of exposure 😅
Personal Goals
Really downsized from last year’s epic fail. Only 2 in this category.
- Finish both started knitting projects
Status: 0
Deadline: End of year
- Read at least 3 books
Status: 0
Deadline: End of year.
Well, well, well… If it isn’t the consequences of my own actions! I simply did not make enough time for this. I found myself scrolling on the couch or in bed when I should have been crafting, reading, or writing.
Here’s list of all goal results:
- Business Goals – 〰 (kinda)
- Enhance blog and generate passive income
- Finance Goals – ✔
- Pay off remaining credit card debt
- Make extra payments to car loan
- Health Goals – ✔
- Crossfit average 2x per week
- Stretch average 3x per week
- Family Goals – ✔
- 1 child-free date night with the hubs monthly
- 1 family outing monthly
- Personal Goals – ❌
- Read
- Knit
And that sums up my 2021 goal results. Overall, 3 out of 5 ain’t bad! Definitely an improvement over 2020 goals (only 1 complete that year 😬). What a year though! New baby, hubs got a new job in November, and a new (to us) car.
These results will help me hone in on areas I need to improve, areas I can challenge myself more, and where I need to scale back. It’s so fun to see it all written out! Well, for me anyways. I love results & outcomes.
Looking forward to making more progress in 2022! Goals here.
